Our Story

The Footmail was born in the middle of Covid crisis when Royal Mail strikes were on. So our mail was stuck and posties were on the street, protesting for better pay & rights.

It was a beautiful summer day when I was walking from work to home with my girlfriend Norma. We decided to go over Rowcroft Hill to see their gardens & meadow. As we passed through gardens we noticed a big tent on the green and party going on. It was a 40 years Celebration of Rowcroft Hospice. As we got closer to the tent, the manager Mark appeared on the door and invited us in. We got tea & cakes and sat down to enjoy the party and performers. It was a great party indeed to remember :)

Thinking back now, I wanted to send a thankyou card to the hospice but as it was so close to my home I decided to deliver it myself by hand & on foot. As I was approaching half way up the hill next day, I stopped, looked at my envelope and drew a stick-man on the right top corner and framed it as a stamp. It was just for fun. Then I was looking at it for a while and I thought: Why not for real? Why not Footmail?

As I got home I started to draw my first series of stamps. They looked very primitive, but sweet. So the day & night stamps were born. Time went buy and Christmas was around the corner - so I had to draw the Christmas stamp which got a lot bigger audience as we have many friends and colleagues. Then birthdays came along and a birthday stamp was born. As the Coronation of King Charles the III happened, Norma inspired me to draw one for the occasion as well. Which I did while we were actually watching coronation on TV. So the Footmail was progressing on and on.

Since then I have made 7 series of labels of Footmail: for day & night, for birthday, for distance recorded delivery, for Coronation and for Christmas. We also have a brand new Footmail® Charity Label, released in 2024.

Footmail could be used as a service. It is covered by a registered trademark and run by Limited company. License is available to all the couriers in the UK.

Footmail is good for health & good for nature as our steps are taken and our carbon footprint is reduced. Also, the funds will be raised for the Rowcroft Hospice :)
